AYURVEDIC WAYS TO EAT FOOD :-
1] Sit in silence a
minute before you begin eating.
2] Do not gulp down
your food; savour each mouthful and chew 32 times well before you swallow.
3] A few sips of
warm water during the meal will help digestion, but do not drink too much of
any beverage.
4] At any meal, do not eat until you are very full.
5] The digestive system works particularly well between 2 am and 6 am. It is recommended that we get up early and eat breakfast. Between 6 am and 10 am, on the other hand, our digestion is relatively weak. If you eat breakfast at this time, light food is recommended.
6] Eat foods that are rich in protein at night. Add low fat , pulses,
lentils, green leafy veggie, and curry leaves to your evening meal. 45 to 65 percent of
your calories should come from carbohydrates, while 20 to 35 percent should
come from total fat. You should also get 10 to 35 percent of your calories from
protein.
7] Eating fruits in the evening can disturb the sleep schedule and the
digestion process. So, Ayurveda recommends having fruits before 4 pm or
before sunset.
8] Do not work or speak on the telephone while eating.
9] Do not read or
watch television while eating.
10] After you
are done eating, sit quietly for a few minutes; do not immediately rush off to
do the next chore of the day.
11] Drink 2 sips of
water after the meal and one glass of water after 45 minutes of eating.
